The front mount has a central bushing and two side pieces that reduce play further.

If those pieces are missing, it can cause clunking, looseness.


Having said that, vibration transferring to the chassis is often a symptom of racing/extra stiff mounts. The mount has a bushing to dampen the vibrations.
