Yes, these things plays an important roll on the suspension, along with a good alignment, also you could lower a bit the nose (for stetic purposes only) but looks ********************in.. :-)

Agree that the speeds of a street Boxter would not benefit with any aero, assuming that all of your suspension bushings are in good shape, get a performance set of struts (like Bilstein yellows), new tires with a nice alignment and you should have great handling car, keeping in mind that these are 'momentum cars' you will end with a fantastic platform!
