Just curious.....what caused you to replace the carbon canister in the first place?

(p.s....according to Pelican Parts my 98 Boxster's replacement canister is about $1,000. They list a couple for a lot less $$$, but unfortunately, the proper one for my 98" is crazy expensive....but turns out mine doesn't need replacing afterall.
