My passenger door locks was stuck. After pulling my local apart, I can see that it is a mechanical issue. There is a lock slider in the mechanism that gets hung up and not sliding properly. I cleaned, greased and no matter what I do, it’s still getting caught.****

I found solutions to loosening it when it gets suck:****
(1) pull the interior lock and let go of it to slam the mechanism. This shake sometimes free the slider that’s caught. It has a spring pushing on it. So a strong jerk can loosen it and allow it to slide.****
(2) bang your butt/side into the door from the outside. The force of pushing the lock latch in sometimes gives it a strong enough jerk to allow the slider to free and allow the door to open.

****Hopefully this helps someone that is stuck unable to open the door. I was freaking out because I couldn’t figure out how to get the door panel off with the door closed.****

My lock needs to be replaced because no matter what I do, it is still catching.
