I agree, Al. The guy I bought it from was the third owner, and as far as he knew nothing had been done to the car other than oil changes. The dual-row bearings have a 1% failure rate (compared to 8% for the single), so I guess that accounts for its longevity. However, Jake Raby said the best thing you can say about a ball-bearing unit is it hasn't failed
yet, but it's only a matter of time. Something else beat it to the punch, and I'm glad it did. Otherwise, I would have missed the low-mileage engine, which are rare as white whales.
My lift table hasn't arrived yet. I was hoping it would be delivered yesterday, as I'm about to leave for Eugene for three days.
