Hi All,
I have a burning oil smell, and upon inspection it looks like some of my spark plug tubes are weeping onto my exhaust, so at least that repair looks straightforward. Parts on order...
While looking for leaks, I started at the top of the motor and worked my way down with a flashlight, I noted I had a small thimble sized pool of oil on the top of the motor (not in photo), it looked like it was a bit oily around what I think is the oil fill tube where there is a clamp, so I wiped that up and I guess I will keep an eye on that in case it has a leak.
While poking around I then accidentally "pulled" a small diameter tube out of a "collar" fitting (circled in the photo). I re-inserted it, but after going through the manuals I have I can't identify what this tubing/connector is...any help appreciated.
I have a 914 which I am completely comfortable with but I am still learning my way around the boxster engine.
Car is a 2000 Boxster S that seems to be completely stock. Thanks, Reg
