All, resolved. Must have been the wires to the EVAP sensor. I spliced the two wires that the mouse chewed and that fixed my main issue - car would not take gas. I had already replaced the vent valve as google tells you that is the most common symptom. Also so far no codes but because battery was disconnected I need to car to get some miles to confirm. That said very happy. Also no apologizes, to big picture guy, that is how this forum takes them and they look fine on a mobile phone

For the record the car (2002 Boxster S manual) again is at 146,000 miles and 100,000 by me. Owned car since 2008. I autocrossed it for a couple years so it has been driven hard. Never had an issue the IMS, the seal was replaced very early in its life by a dealer. No oil leaks! And no issues with any system everything works.

As a high milage car some info for others who have issues, some of mine and resolution (with my view of difficulty scale 1-10) I do not have a lift or access to one.

1. Car randomly stopped running - solved by replacing the crankshaft position sensor - hard to get to sensor but doable. (8)
2. Low oil pressure light - dealer solved by replacing a relief spring in the system that broke.
3. torn rear windows so needed new top top - replaced with help from the wife. (8)
4. Serpentine belt failed - easy fix just pop access door behind the car seats and use a breaker bar to release tension. (3)
5. clutch - dealer fix
6. fuel vent valve - self (7)
7. installed new radio and Bluetooth which involved taking apart dash to hands free mic - self (6)
8. left rear wheel bearing - dealer

Brakes and oil changes by self.

I have always wait for the engine to be warmed up to operating temp prior to running over 3000 rpm.

These are great cars. They do not like to sit and need to be driven!
