I'm experiencing a similar issue with a 997/987 seat that I am modifying to fit into my 986. I'm wondering whether the process you followed can help me resolve my problem.
Did you take any pictures showing how you disassembled the seat to reach the pump? I want to access the pump with minimum disruption to the upholstery.
