Hi all, I'm resuscitating this thread to see if I'm missing anything .

I've recently acquired a '01 Boxster, which came with 3 sets of keys (2 fobs + 1 valet).
Both fobs don't work... one has a slightly faster intermittent red light blinking than the other...
I've opened and visually examined both and tried everything that has been suggested in this thread:

1 Flipping the battery

2 Inserting the key in the ignition (without turning the engine on), then taking it out and holding any button within 6 seconds

3 Locking the door then pushing buttons

All of the above with both keys with no avail...
Am I missing something?
I know the previous owner changed the ignition switch and battery 2 years ago (in case this is a factor); he also told me that he could not get the fob to work during his ownership....

I can live without this feature for sure, especially after a shop quoted me $300 for a fix, but it'd be nice to have them working for front and rear trunk operation...

Anyway, any tips, suggestions, or workarounds to try to make it work are very much appreciated, thanks !
