Welp, I got her all back together and WOW, not only an amazing feeling to DIY that work, but car sounds SOOOO much healthier now with all the vacuum leaks fixed.
Work done:
- New vacuum canister ("while im in there")
- New AOS (main cause of work)
- all vacuum lines replaced with brass fittings/connectors and rubber hose (with some "slack" added for ease of maintenance in the future)
- New intake boots on the 2 connector tubes (big difference! totally worth the price!)
- New "valve" thing that connects to underside of rear tube (forget which valve it is - the cheapie one)
I learned a lot! And I'm actually glad I took the intake manifold off. Had always thought that was "major" work. I'm not too scared of it anymore. Very "procedural" as I saw someone else on the boards refer to it. Not hard/scary work, just multiple basic steps, but all very easy.
