CLS Issue

Hello everyone..... new here with recent purchase of 1997 Boxster with the usual squeaks and rattles of a 27 year old car. Always dreamed of owning a Porsche and now I do.

Primary issue to fix is locking the car. I've searched plenty on here and found tons of great info but not specific to my issue.

Current situation: CLS button on dash does nothing for locking or unlocking (no light on switch either when pushed.... not sure if it should?). The remote will unlock the car but not lock the car. It unlocks/opens the trunk so fairly certain remote works properly. The driver door will lock manually with the key in the door but issue becomes the passenger door as it remains unlocked and does not have keyhole to manually lock with key.

Current thoughts: previous owner replaced door latch with Audi/VW latch so maybe this is causing issue? The convertible top light is always on dash is always on regardless if up or down. There appears to be something missing from area between visors that I think might be a missing microswitch. Could an issue with the top not thinking it is closed be causing issue with locking system? If not, what are other areas to troubleshoot for this?

Thanks!
