For me it would all come down to cost to rebuild vs replacement, however I try to improve anything I have to replace/rebuild if possible. I rarely try to use a stock part for a stock part unless it is superior quality or there is not an upgrade option. If you are going to have yours rebuilt why not improve it when doing so? If you improve it during rebuild you get the added smiles of a better version of what you had. Just my take, I am sure others will chime in.
