Have the replacement ready as you'll get a gusher when you remove the old one. Work quickly and you won't lose too much antifreeze.

Thanks Husker, the coolant temp sensor swap went real well and quickly, but from underneath - the car on a lift. Tightened it snug, should not be too tight...
Did change the two front of the engine large diameter coolant hoses at the same time (looked to be at the end of the lifespan, probably original), so coolant flush was also done at the same time
