Usually not a good idea. But, check with the Storage Facility Owner, if his Insurance would cover it, then OK. Same if you store at home, if your Homeowners Policy will cover it.

If you only drive seasonally, and limited miles, you can get very inexpensive insurance for either 6 mos. or a year.

My Boxster is insured through Leland West in Fresno, CA. I have a 5k mi./year limit (which I haven't exceeded in 2 years driving the car) and I only pay $311/yr. for Agreed Value, Full Coverage.

Anything can happen when the Car is in storage from Theft, Vandalism, Fire and such. You don't want to find out after the fact, that you weren't covered...
