Amigos,
I had the pleasure of taking the my 2004 986 2.7L to Chuckwalla this weekend. When I got there I found that the other drivers in my group were much more capable that I was, and were lapping in dedicated track cars with 50% more horsepower and r-compound tires. This made it pretty hard to judge whether or not I was turning respectable times for the car setup that I brought, or if I was leaving time on the table.
I did take solace in passing a 2018 Cayman S, but as you can see in video, I got myself offline, into the sandy part of the track, and promptly spun out!
hahaha.
Video of Lap Here
Anywho. I managed a best lap of 2:16:59 in a base Boxster with street tires and no mods.
Does anyone have any data to suggest if this is decent or not? Any insight into the best lap to expect from a stock Boxster in a street configuration?
I checked out fastestlaps.com and saw that Randy Pobst did a 2:04:53 in a 306hp Audi TT-S, which made me feel pretty good.
Thanks!
