S muffler up to 2002 will have the welded on tips. 2003 and after will have the removable tips. You want the welded tips. The fister mod runs tubes into the tips. I have a 98 base with a 2000 S muffler. It works fine. All the pipes are the same size. You might want to buy a used updated muffler bracket if your car doesn't already have one. I'm not sure of the year of your car. I'd imagine 2000 and later have the newer bracket. I was able to mount the muffler using the old and new bracket. I prefer the new bracket.
