As someone who replaces them for a living, I can assure you that years of experience has shown that all the engine numbers, VIN's, build dates, or phases of the moon have proven time and again to be completely USELESS in determining which style bearing is in either the 2000-2001 or 2005 engines. You have to take them apart and look to know, period.
