Bore scoring is a growing concern for these engines per Jake Raby . He believes and it makes common sense that a large contributor is leaking fuel injectors . Fuel tends to puddle in the cylinders because they are horizontal . Add to that in some cases less than stellar engine oil being used . Basically setting up dry cold start ups . Rinse/repeat that cycle X amount of times equals bore scoring .

I have watched his videos and have seen with my own eyes the bore scoring he talks about . I think but don't know that the issue is more pronounced in the DFI engines . Bore scoring is just another issue to be aware of , just like the IMS it could happen maybe even might happen but not enough of an issue to not enjoy the cars . Just my opinion .
