I had an '07 987CS with the 3.4 engine and was using a quart of oil between 800-1000 miles, the compression was even and I believe that the oil consumption was caused by a scored cylinder.
Saved money for a couple of years to build a 3.8 engine with the LN Nickies (even attended the Flat6 class), but before I could rebuild the engine a lady ran a red light changing my plans... (the car had 105k on the clock)
If I was on the same position, I would do it all over again, the 987 chassis is awesome..
