^^^ True, nothing is legal...that would violate "Visual" inspection...If the smog tech doesnt look or doesnt notice you have high performance cats - you will pass visual inspection but as far as passing the emissions part of the test, that would be unknown, Heres some advise.... Save your stock cats for emissions testing. The fact that they will only be used once a 1 or every 2 years for testing will insure that you will never fail a smog test due to old cats, unless they are already worn out.
