Looks like your dad made a valiant attempt but that top is not installed correctly. The rubber seal that’s resting on top of the lid should be below it. There are three really good videos on YouTube and one not so good but all detail the process. One is in Spanish but hey, you really don’t need the commentary once the others have been viewed. It’s definitely a tricky job that takes finesse but certainly doable. Watch the videos, see where he got off track, disassemble to that point and start again. I’m sure he can do it.
