I'm not sure if this is particularly helpful for your case, but I have two Sparco seats I'm planning to have upholstered with brand new foam and "custom" fabric. For roughly the price of a new entry level seat, I can choose my foam densities and use material that mimics historic Porsches (corduroy and pepita).
