I'd say the 914.

I have owned the '70 with 85HP IIRC for two years, selling the week before the warranty ran out. And a Boxster 2.5 201 HP and a Boxster S 3.2 250 HP.

Because you could flog it harder, the low HP made the 914 feel better.

Now if it was technically better is another story.

If the darn 914 didn't rust at the hint of snow and salt, I'd still have mine.

Today good 914-4s go for maybe 50% more than Boxsters of the 986 vintage. Great ones get to the gasp $60s. And the 914-6 gets above $100k for great ones.
