You simply undo the single strut nut under the plastic cover under the hood. Then push the shaft of the strut down with a screw driver or something. You may have to use a deep socket and a hex key together to stop the strut shaft from rotating preventing the nut from coming off, or if you have a good impactor you may not have an issue.
