That's before Porsche was on such a tight budget & had been improving the same engine for 20 years. Installing a "bigger" cam increases high rpm power with a notable loss of low rpm torque which is what gets the car moving. Engine displacement size is the main factor that determines low rpm power to get you moving. Thus the phrase "there is no replacement for displacement!"
