I'm a hobbyist Wheeler Dealer and sold an 09 Box S w/ 42K mi for $28 back in June. I think that was the same time Rex sold his. If I hadn't had the same one for sale, I would have bought Rex's and turned it - his was a smokin deal. Those deals are hard to find. I have a guy in San Fran and a guy in OKC who both want me to find a 987.2 (2009-2012) Box S for them. I've been looking since I sold my 14 CS a month ago. Can't find a good deal, even with fall and depressed prices coming. Will probably have to wait until Jan when prices are really down.

In 2009 Porsche only sold 1900 Boxsters (base & S) in the US. In 2011, only 1700 - the lowest production yr for Boxsters. 2010 and 2012 weren't much higher. Throw in the popularity of the new engine and owners are hanging on to the the few Boxsters that were sold. They hold their value quite well, even with high (in Porsche terms) mileage. For a marker, in 2008 alone Porsche sold something like 15K Boxsters.
