Good article as my S also has the crappy looking trim . The problem with painting the trim is mine is rough to the touch because of cracks and small pieces of the finish missing . So for it to look good it would have to be sanded and filled in , not easy to do on something only a 1/4 " wide x the length AND not damage the rubber .
