The more I think about it the more an engine upgrade is the logical step. I have been looking for info on installing a 3.2l (2000 to 2002) to my 2000 and my understanding is it would be a straight swap. I would keep the 5-speed transmission. I would assume that I would have to keep the 2.7's clutch disk to mate to the 5-speed. I have spent some time searching for threads on this and have not found all the answers. Most people switch to the 6-speed which I don't want to do, at least not immediately. For my old-fart driving style I don't see a problem.
