I don;t think there's any problem using red. I don't know that it's necessary.... but can't see any harm.
I once tried to safety-wire lug-nuts with a braided run from nut to nut. If I took about an hour per wheel on them, they were beautiful......  yeah..... did that once, on one wheel. hahahaha |
If it breaks flush, you drill hole and use extractor. After you heat it, there is nothing preventing its removal
