I bought my 99 for $5k, put $2,500 into it for initial repairs, then bought new tires, another set of headlights and drove it for 2 years. Last year, the engine had a terminal event. I spent $3,500 on another motor, plus another $500 of pieces parts and tools to remove/replace the engine. Will I ever get the investment back in $$$'s, no, but I sure enjoy driving with the top down year round while reading about all the folks that have to park their cars for the winter.

Now my 66 912, that's another story for another forum.
