My guess... based on look of plug is pigtail was made too short and they extended. I'd give each wire a firm tug to ensure connected well. Then maybe a little heat to tighten up shrink tubing and add strain relief wraps of electrical tape, gaffer tape or zip tie bundle on both sides of the junction.
Speaking of plug BTW, I'd give that some love too and secure up a bit more w/ some black RTV sealant. If not using removable pin connectors as in an injection mold, that piece will be molded as one entire assembly with and the wires then cut to length at termination connector. Suspect they were initially. Then they realized overall pigtail too short. So they clipped all at plug to extend and then "hand molded" in the extensions back into original.
Looks sharp overall though and look forward to everyone reporting back LT results.
