Yeah... I'll trust what Porsche did and leave it alone. I believe the intake muffler and that tube were added to comply with European noise mandates. Period.

I find it odd that it is resident only upon the tips...

I thought the intake snorkel was for Euroan noise regulation, not the chamber that enhances the flow.

Throttle won't close and open at each gear shift as manual, especially our early models with cable throttle, so intake flow dynamic and tuning can be unique for each tranny.
