Some 25 years ago I was new to the internet.
Some would say I was a surfer and took the name before Quicksilver Surf could... Well I don't surf.
But I did have a Mercury outboard on an old boat I had. I was sitting at my desk trying to think of an email address for AoL. That's when I saw a bottle of Mercury's 2 stroke Quicksilver Outboard oil mix sitting on my desk. Shortened it, and bam! Name.
On other forums I am Qckslvr240, I had a 72 240Z with triple side draft Delortos at the time. Even though I no longer have the car, it still remains to be one of my favorites so the 240 hangs around for nostalgia.
