Rear sway bar question

In preparation for some projects I've removed the two cross bars that are attached to the big metal plate sitting under the transmission (pardon the non-technical language). I've also removed the big metal plate (triangular shaped).

So... when I'm looking at the transmission pan the rear sway bar runs across it. Thus, when I go to remove the transmission pan... that bar needs to go... at least out of the way so I can drop the pan. That said...

I see the 2 bolts holding in the bar (closest to the transmission pan, and on each side) and it appears that if I remove the 2 bolts from each side the bar should just swivel down (still being connected at either end) enough for me to lower the pan out. My questions...

Is it that simple? Do completely I need to remove those 4 bolts... or do I just loosen them enough to swivel the bar down? Surely I don't have to remove the entire sway bar, do I?

Thank you.
