Over the years people have tried stuffing the following into a Boxster:
various 911 engines
turbo Subaru engines
an Audi V8
several yrs ago someone tried a turbo Buick V6
several electric conversions
I don't think anyone has attempted an LS1. Basically you're only held back by your creativity and budget.
