I wonder whether you US people have a different spec springs or set up. Not many people complain about this over here. Indeed, the most common 'mod' is to replace a broken spring and most report a better clutch operation. Manual cars are the norm here and I don't notice anything particularly peculiar with the clutch in either of the Boxsters I've had compared to the dozens of other cars I've driven.
