If I had to do it over again, I would leave the fuse box and relays in their original position, moving them to the passenger side was a pain.
Print out the wiring diagrams and make sure you know what wire you are cutting. I had multiple components off of my engine when I started the wiring and therefore could not start the car after cutting wires to make sure I didn't mess up.
20-30 lbs of wire seems optimistic - 10 to 15 possibly.
There's a good post either on this board or on rennlist which shows you how to get the alarm module down to 8 wires.
Take your time and don't be in a hurry.
