Had a coolant pipe fail on two prior boxsters. Front of the motor. Very minor crack in the rubber right where it clamps to the block. If I drove it hard I would always get the coolant smell. No leaks on the floor because any drip was always caught in the underbody tray. Pretty easy fix when you take the interior engine panel off to acces the front of the engine.

I have been getting a coolant smell inside my car ever since I bought it. I assumed it was my heater core, so I decided to replace it. Much to my surprise, when I pulled it out it looked basically brand new. Thinking it might be a pin hole in the core, I replaced it anyway. Smell was still there. Now I have noticed condensation above the coolant recovery tank cap, and I think it is the old style cap. Could this be the cause of the smell? Drives me nuts...I hate that smell.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
