I have still got a problem with airbag light on preventing me from MOTing the car. I know the problem is associated with the drivers airbag and have now stripped down the steering wheel to get access to the clock spring. I immediately noticed there was a wire which appeared to have been cut. The wire is orange and red and can see it continues through the clock spring to the connector on the rear of the clock spring. I cannot see anywhere it could of been connected as there are no sockets or connectors free on any of the components. The steering wheel only has the tiptronic switches, so I'm wondering if the wire is only used if there are Radio/CD player controls on the steering wheel, which mine does not have?
Now I have the bits apart how do I test for electrical continuity through the clock spring?
I would be grateful for any info regarding orange/red wire or the clock spring.
Where is the triggering unit located?
Thanks
Dave
