This rubber "washer" fell apart from years of use and grime. Car shifts perfectly normal.
Wondering if I should do anything about it or not?

Say I can make a piece like that out of some rubber.. is it possible to put it into place without taking the shifter linkage apart? looks like it's mostly riveted so I can't just unbolt that one piece apart and slide the rubber washer on it.
