I'm not mechanically inclined, and don't know much about the engines... but I've loved this car. The 986 - a daily driver - has 120K miles on it, and the rest of it is actually in a pretty good shape. I'd like to keep the car as long as I can have it. Sometimes driving it is the best part of my days. Yes, I do have other cars I can use in the meantime so am not in an urgency.

I'd like to have the car ideally for close to 8 more years. Given this and after going through mikefocke's link, am now leaning on getting a factory engine or contacting RND. Will sleep on it and likely contact them next week.
