When I dismantled & rebuilt my injectors as part of a total engine rebuild I was pleased to find the later/better '4 hole' version. I presume they are less susceptible to accumulating deposits and then leaking?

Don't know about that, I assume 4 holes are better than 1 for distribution & atomization.
