I hate to do this, but since I can’t drive it anymore due to an injury I’m selling my 2004 Porsche Boxster S. This car is in great shape mechanically and cosmetically. 2004 was the last of the first generation Boxsters. Its 3.2 liter flat 6 and 6-speed manual transmission are a joy to use. Aside from maintenance work, the only repair it has needed in the past year was a clutch and rear main seal. I intended to replace the IMS bearing at the same time. However, it turned out that the engine had been replaced under warranty with a Porsche factory rebuilt motor in 2008. This motor is a later version 3.2 which is reported to not have the problematic bearing. It also has more power than the original.

I am the third owner of this Porsche, originally sold by Stevens Creek Porsche in the Bay Area. The previous owner was an engineer like myself who maintained the car in pristine condition, always garaged or under a car cover when at work. This Boxster has never been abused or tracked. I have maintenance and repair records back to 2008. Clean CarFax available upon request.

According to Porsche’s press release from 2004, “…Porsche Boxster S comes equipped with extensive standard comfort and convenience equipment, including fog lamps, a heated windshield washer system, heated power side-view mirrors, a power top with glass rear window, remote door and front and rear trunk locks (with its mid-engine architecture, the Boxster has both front and rear trunks that offer a combined 9.1 cu.-ft. (258-liters) of storage space) and a transponder key anti-theft system with immobilizer. Also standard are leather-faced seats with power recliners; leather-covered three-spoke steering wheel, gearshift knob, door armrests and handbrake handle; a telescoping steering column; one-touch controls to open or close the windows; automatic climate controls with a dust/pollen filter and charcoal odor filter; a digital radio with in-dash CD player; dual cup holders that pop out of the dashboard; a large, lighted and locking glove compartment with a 305 cu.-in. (5.0-liter) capacity; and LED interior orientation lights.”

In addition to the standard features discussed above, my Porsche has optional and aftermarket equipment including:
  • All-leather upholstery
  • Leather dash cover
  • Three-piece wind deflector,
  • Bi-Xenon headlights (new in 2015)
  • Headrest insignias
  • Porsche crest wheel centers
  • Sirius XM radio and head unit with USB and Bluetooth (2016)
  • Upgraded power amp and speakers (2016)
  • Power seats
  • Automatic climate control (AC blows cold)
  • Cruise control

I’ll be glad to discuss more details by phone. I’m Dave at 650-281-46 eight eight.
