It's not carbon fiber.
I found a local guy who does "water transfer printing" / "hydrographics". Faux carbon is one of many patterns possible. Leopard print or camouflage didn't seem racy enough. They also did the rest of the panel surround, and both engine covers. It looks great and adds 10 hp.
