I'd be reluctant to drive it. Get it on a lift and listen from underneath (don't lie underneath a running car on jack stands). Hopefully it is just the water pump. That's a maintenance item anyway. When I first listened to the noise I thought timing chains/tensioner. Hopefully that is not the case.
