The 996 cam covers are drilled and tapped for it. I don't believe most Boxster covers are (going from memory).

In any case, the 996 has them because of the rearward engine location and the probability of water and slush being thrown up by the tires. With the Boxster engine more forward, it shouldn't be an issue, particularly in AZ.
