Hello,

on a 6-speed 2001 Boxster S the forward gears are all engaged by one cable. The reverse gear is engaged by another cable. That means if the cable and the shifter mechanism is OK, all gears should work.

I asked the clutch bleeding question, because if the clutch doesn't separate 100% that might cause gears to get out easily. But in general that also won't effect only one gear.

So the problem here is, that only one gear is affected, and i fear that is a gearbox problem. But check shifter mechanism and gear cables first.
