Two ways:

1) replacement ECU and their own pcar key that matches (more common because this is the cheaper way)
2) flash the ECU with a hacker program to disable the transponder and set to work with their pcar key (only major pros do this because it is the more expensive way)

Those are the two ways pros are getting around the key security and takes all but under 1 min to do.

Lesson learned: Why do they need our keys when they got their own and they can make it work on any car.


edit:
Was your car stolen with the top down? I am thinking it was because that only makes it easier for car theives. Otherwise someone would have heard the alarm go off.
