If you're not sure what's happening - DON'T DRIVE THE CAR, DON'T START THE CAR! STEP AWAY FROM THE BOXSTER! until you have it checked by a competent mechanic!
I don't want to be alarmist, but your symptoms do not sound good. It would be too difficult to make a long-distance diagnosis based on your post. Then again, it could be something minor, which I hope it is.
The main thing is not to compound it by driving it. If your timing jumped or something broke, you could destroy the engine, so have it towed in and let them look at it. Hope this helps...
