Thank you all for your help. Thanks to your suggestions I found the missing nut. It was covered in almost a centimetre of gunk from the RMS or IMS cover. After literally digging it out the transmission came out a lot easier
. Before I found it I jacked the car level, so I have no Idea if I could have slid it off with the nose pointing down.
